It was a warm summer evening, and the breeze carried the sweet smell of love throughout the air as Amber and Jake met eyes and took each other in, relishing in this moment in time as they await the arrival of their newest family member. It may feel like an eternity as they wait for his arrival, but it is merely a small mark in the timeline of life.

I have only photographed one other couple so in love, so smitten with each other, that time seemed to stop when their eyes met. Amber and Jake have been married 8 years and their love resembles that of newlyweds, only with some experience. The photos I captured don’t even do their love justice.

The session was so fun and lighthearted. I don’t think I’ve laughed quite as hard during a session as I did with these two. I have known Amber since we were kids. Amber was always so happy, caring, and personable growing up, and these traits are clearly engrained in her as she is even happier, more caring, and even more personable. What a gem of a woman! Seeing her so happy and so in love is one of the best things to see. Jake has this sense of humor that often made me scratch my head for a split second and ask myself “who is this guy?”, but the sincerity and seriousness of his humor made me laugh even harder. I mean, when someone asks if you know photoshop in a serious manner and follows up by nonchalantly suggests you add raptors to their photos, you must oblige to their request, right? So here you go Jake, just as you requested!

What I love most about these two is how they seem to laugh their way through life and have no worries other than each other when together. I think their sole purpose is to make each other laugh and I am here for it. I mean, what a wonderful way to live life! I can’t wait to see this family grow and can only imagine the element their baby will bring to the mix.
