The new baby lay there in her bassinet, her eyes heavy and tired from all the excitement from the day. Her proud sister, is standing by her side singing her a sweet lullaby. The baby gazes up into her sisters eyes, full of love and adoration. This sisterly bond was instant and it was fierce.

We snuck out of the room quietly, and as we peered through the crack in the door, we giggled to each other as we watched her baby sister grab her toes and coo a whole conversation to herself.

 “I love my sister so so much. She is so cute!” the little three year old exclaimed. 

While we waited for her to fall asleep, I was pulled into another room, treated to a three year olds colorful show-and-tell, making sure I knew what was hers, and what was her sisters. As I listened to her toddler tales and watched her meticulously share all the details of her most prized possessions, I couldn’t help but become overwhelmed with excitement for these two little girls. A lifelong best friend from birth only a few get to experience.

Once her baby sister was fast asleep, we tip-toed into the room, to capture some of the sweetest moments I have ever been a part of. I could feel the immense love in the room as the three year old gently stroked her baby sisters head and placed the gentlest of kisses on her forehead. Tending to her as though she has been doing it for years. 

As I looked through all the images from this session, I could feel the bond they shared mere months into their sisterhood. I can only image how that will grow as the years go by. I am so blessed and honored I get to watch and document these two little cuties as they grow up together.
